#MyParty14

During October of my Junior year in my Civics class, we did a project called #MyParty14. Students created a political party, platform, and 30 second commercial based on their beliefs and backgrounds. Through this project, we learned what the biggest political influces are in peoples lives and where they come from. I did all the filming and editing on the video for my group.

For a final presentation, each group gave a two minuite stump speech and showed their commercials. Students of the class then voted on the top five parties in the class and my group, The Free Party, was one of those five. Next, the Sophomores joined the Juniors for the next round of presentations. The final top ten presented their parties again to everyone. We also brought in multiple politicians from the area to judge and give feedback. After one more round of voting, the winners were picked. And to our surprise, The Free Party won. Our commercial then moved onto the state competition where we placed second out of five schools.

This project and my group was alos featured in this Huffington Post article and this School News Network article.
